Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Tactical Data Link Analyst to join our team at Camp Pendleton, CA (Oceanside, CA) near San Diego CA. You will be working with a team that is tasked with test and evaluation services in a Test and Engineering Division to analyze tactical data link performance. Develop test plans, configure equipment, and monitor real-time data. Identify and report deviations from standards, perform post-test root cause analysis, and contribute findings to test reports. Advise on test tools, support planning, and ensure interoperability and data exchange compliance during test events.
Responsibilities:
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience using tools to analyze Link 16 and VMF data collected during a test event to ensure messages conform to the MIL-STDs.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following: MIL-STD-6016 (Link 16), MIL-STD-3011 (JREAP), MIL-STD-6017 (VMF), and MIL-STD-6020 (Data Forwarding).
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of the Data Extraction and Reduction Guide (DERG).
  • Expertise working with large data sets collected during test events and analyzing the data to ensure systems under test meet performance and system requirements.
  • Demonstrated advanced expertise in analyzing tactical data link communications, verifying compliance with military standards, and conducting comprehensive performance assessments. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with specialized data analysis tools, and the ability to develop detailed technical documentation and recommendations.
  • Experience with M&S tools such as BOSS or MLST3 developing Link 16 scenarios and mission-based thread development, Desired.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as MANDRIL, NSITE, DEASIL, or Wireshark, Desired.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of MIL-STD-6040 (USMTF), MIL-STD-6018 (CMF) and MIL-STD-6090 (CoT), Desired.
  • Other duties as assigned to support team goals and maintain operational efficiency.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, Desired.
Clearance Requirements:
  • An active Top Secret (TS) security clearance is required to start in this position.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
Travel Requirements:
  • Travel for this position is anticipated to be 30%-50% within the Continental United States and 10%-25% outside the Continental United States.
The pay range for this position in is $106,000/year to $128,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
