Description and Requirements We are looking for a motivated AI Security Software Engineer Intern to join our engineering team and help build, test, and secure nextgeneration Generative AI (GenAI) applications. This internship is designed for undergraduate students who are excited to learn, contribute, and gain hands-on experience working with modern AI systems in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers to develop scalable software solutions, explore AI security best practices, and gain exposure to real-world GenAI deployment challenges. What You'll Do Collaborate with a team of engineers to develop, deploy, and maintain Generative AI applications Assist with A/B testing to evaluate and improve system performance and user experience Write, test, and optimize code using Python, Java, and related technologies Learn about Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) and apply secure coding best practices Support the integration of backend services and APIs for AI-powered applications Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in Generative AI, machine learning, and security Contribute ideas, take ownership of tasks, and participate in team discussions and reviews Basic Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field Strong foundation in computer science and programming concepts Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team Willingness and ability to work onsite in Morrisville, NC Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Python and exposure to AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch Experience or coursework involving Linux, Bash scripting, and Git Understanding of API design, backend services, and performance optimization Exposure to Large Language Models (LLMs) and real-time AI systems Previous internship, research experience, or academic projects in AI, ML, NLP, DL, or LLMs Experience with or interest in tools such as DeepSpeed, FSDP, vLLM, Llama.cpp, or similar LLM inference/serving libraries We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any federal, state, or local protected class.
