Overview
Thinking at hyper scale, working with virtualization technology, collaborating across organizations to drive new initiatives, and contributing in a fast paced environment are central to this role. The Microsoft Azure Cloud Hardware Platform Innovation (CHPI) team supports the continued growth of Microsoft Azure by delivering the platform and Virtual Machine (VM) offerings that enable this expansion. As Microsoft's cloud platform, Microsoft Azure continues to scale globally, and the CHPI team plays a key role in supporting that growth through hardware platform innovation. This position focuses on leading a team of developers to identify and evaluate new technologies that provide measurable value to the Microsoft Azure platform. The role emphasizes interest in emerging technologies, virtualization, and optimization while addressing operational challenges at global scale. The work includes contributing to the design of next generation Microsoft Azure offerings and supporting new business models, applications, and operating models as new customers and partners are integrated into the Microsoft Azure system. Through this role, the individual gains exposure to large scale operational challenges and collaborates with multiple organizations to deliver solutions aligned with Microsoft Azure platform goals. The position supports learning how large scale cloud platforms evolve while contributing to initiatives that enable continued growth and innovation across Microsoft Azure. #azurecorejobs Hardware Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
