| Position Highlights |
We are seeking a Pastry Cook/Baker to join our team. Our ideal candidate has an upbeat demeanor, passion for the culinary arts, and some professional training or experience. In this role, you will help make cookies, cakes, breads, and other pastries to pre-established recipes. Consistency is essential, so you must also follow portioning and decorating guidelines. At the end of each production run, kitchen equipment must be cleaned and sanitized and all ingredients must be properly labeled and stored. This role is ideal for someone who is interested in pursuing a career as a dessert or pastry chef.

| Duties & Responsibilities |
- Bake pastry items according to pre-established recipes.
- Decorate pastries in a consistent style.
- Follow plating and display standards.
- Maintain inventory of prepped ingredients.
- Prevents cross contamination of food products.
- Weighs, labels and dates all food items; store in designated areas.
- Cleans counter tops, walls, shelves, drain screens and floor mats.
- Sends all utensils to be washed and when returned checks to see that all utensils are properly stored.
- Empties sanitizer and takes out trash.
- Keeps floors and work area clean and dry to prevent injury.
- Checks walk-ins for proper product rotation.
- Greets and serves customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Provides suggestions and input to supervisor.
- Actively solves problems wherever possible.
- Works harmoniously with coworkers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge in basic math.
- Knowledge of basic baking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety & sanitation regulations and processes.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally lifts, transfer or move a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
