The Power BI Developer supports the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) in monitoring Medicaid managed care operations by maintaining and enhancing dashboards within the Managed Care Insights (MCI) platform. This role is responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing 180+ dashboard views, integrating data from Contracted Entities (CEs) and the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS), and delivering actionable insights for contract performance and compliance monitoring. The Power BI Developer collaborates with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to ensure dashboards are accurate, user-friendly, and aligned with OHCA reporting requirements. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Power BI Developer Responsibilities Include:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards supporting the Managed Care Insights (MCI) solution for the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA).
- Manage, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues impacting the dashboards, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Implement minor enhancements and updates to improve dashboard functionality, performance, and usability across 180+ views.
- Integrate data from Contracted Entities (CEs) and the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) to support OHCA's monitoring of managed care contract performance.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to ensure dashboards meet reporting, compliance, and analytics requirements.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy in all visualizations and reports.
- Document dashboard designs, data sources, transformations, and operational procedures for maintenance and future development.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness, accessibility, and scalability of Power BI solutions.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Power BI Developer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports for enterprise applications.
- At least 2 years of experience writing and optimizing Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) queries for calculations, measures, and performance tuning.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with SQL for data querying, transformation, and reporting.
- At least 3 years of experience developing solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, and Azure data services.
- Experience integrating multiple data sources, transforming data, and building scalable, user-friendly dashboards.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data quality, and best practices for reporting and visualization.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues in a data reporting environment.
- Ability to collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to ensure dashboards meet analytics, monitoring, and compliance needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a production support environment.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
- 2+ years of experience supporting Medicaid applications or healthcare-related reporting systems.
- Experience working with high-volume reporting environments or dashboards supporting contract performance and compliance monitoring.
- Familiarity with managed care or state Medicaid program reporting requirements.
