Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable Crackfill Crew Laborer to assist with asphalt maintenance projects including crack sealing, pavement preparation, and related site work. This hands-on role is essential for ensuring paved surfaces are properly maintained and prepared for long-term performance. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.



Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    Prepare pavement by cleaning cracks with compressed air, wire brushes, or heat lances
  • Operate and maintain crack sealing equipment (e.g., melters, applicators, blowers)
  • Load materials and supplies safely and efficiently
  • Apply hot or cold crack sealant materials according to specifications
  • Assist with traffic control and set up safety barricades and signage
  • Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Follow directions from the Foreman and communicate clearly with team members
  • Comply with all safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes):

  • Previous experience in asphalt maintenance or construction preferred but not required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and perform physical labor in heat and outdoor conditions
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
  • Valid driver's license preferred; CDL is a plus
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
  • Must be willing to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area

Working Conditions

  • Outdoor job sites with exposure to heat, fumes, and noise
  • Requires standing, bending, lifting, and walking on uneven surfaces
