Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business Job Description
The University of Missouri (Mizzou), the flagship, land-grant, comprehensive research university of the University of Missouri System (UM System), seeks a proven educational leader and academic administrator to serve as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs in the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Associate Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative leader for the College's undergraduate portfolio and plays a central role in advancing strategic priorities related to student success, academic excellence, and program innovation. This highly visible leadership role provides oversight for the vision, strategy, and execution of all undergraduate business programs. The Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs partners closely with the Dean's Office, fellow associate deans, academic unit heads, academic program directors, college committees, and university leadership to ensure alignment with the College's strategic plan, accreditation standards, and institutional goals. The Associate Dean leads a comprehensive undergraduate enterprise that includes academic advising, student recruitment, experiential learning, curriculum management, and assurance of learning. The role carries responsibility for strengthening enrollment strategy; enhancing student engagement, retention, and graduation outcomes; expanding online and innovative program delivery; and advancing continuous improvement processes. The Associate Dean also oversees the administration of approximately $2 million in undergraduate scholarships annually and contributes to initiatives supporting external rankings and reputation. With a focus on both vision and execution, the Associate Dean will foster a culture of collaboration, data-informed decision-making, and accountability. The successful candidate will bring the capacity to translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes while empowering teams and cultivating strong partnerships across the College and University. The ideal candidate is an accomplished academic leader and effective communicator who combines strategic insight with operational acumen. This individual will possess a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education, student success, and instructional innovation, along with the ability to guide complex initiatives in a dynamic, rapidly growing environment. The Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business: In 2025, the Trulaske College of Business is ranked #40 among the best public undergraduate business programs in the nation by US News powered by student outcomes that stand at an impressive 96.8% within six months of graduation, and scholarly faculty whose research productivity appears across the top 100 in their respective disciplines. Trulaske offers rigorous undergraduate and graduate academic programs in business administration and accountancy. In Fall 2026, the College is expected to have 51 full-time tenure/tenure track faculty, 39 full-time teaching faculty, 67 staff members, and an operating budget of approximately $32 million and an endowment exceeding $ 170 million. The College enrolls more than 5,800 students across its undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. The College holds dual Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditations in business and accounting. Trulaske's five-year strategic plan is anchored in three bold pillars: transformative technologies, experience-centered learning, and an entrepreneurial mindset. It positions students at the forefront of digital innovation by fully integrating AI, analytics and emerging technologies into the curriculum, investing in top-tier faculty expertise and building dynamic industry partnerships. Trulaske is housed in Cornell Hall, among the finest facilities on the MU campus. Featuring state-of-the art technologies, Cornell Hall includes 17 classrooms, three computer labs, an executive classroom, an active learning classroom, a 500-seat auditorium, a 118-seat lecture hall, two reception/multi-purpose rooms, and eight small breakout rooms as well as administrative offices. Flexible teaching spaces, including classrooms and breakout rooms that facilitate class interaction, teamwork, research, and small-group activities, are emphasized throughout the building. Academic Programs The Trulaske College of Business offers a rich variety of academic degree programs at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration complete core business courses and then select an emphasis in Finance, Management, Marketing, Real Estate, or Economics. Students may also pursue a BSBA and BA with an International Business Track, allowing students to also obtain the BA in the language of their choice through the College of Arts and Sciences. The undergraduate experience is enhanced by a number of minors and certificates, student development/enrichment programs and study abroad opportunities in which students gain leadership, management, and technical skills to prepare for successful careers. The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy/Master of Accountancy merges two degrees into a highly successful, nationally ranked integrated 150-hour accountancy program. The curriculum provides students with a strong technical accountancy background, a broad advanced business background, internships, professional skills, and certificates in Assurance, Data Analytics, and Taxation to prepare graduates for successful careers in accounting and business. Graduate programs in the Trulaske College of Business include an in-person Master of Accountancy (MAcc), an in-person MBA in Analytics, and an online MBA degree. This position is a 12-month administrative opening with a teaching responsibility reporting to the Dean of the College of Business and can be filled as a Tenured Position for scholarly active faculty at the Associate Professor or Professor level, or as Professional Track Teaching position at the Associate Teaching Professor or Teaching Professor level.
