(Automotive Mechanic Experience Required)** Are you an experienced automotive mechanic looking to shift gears in your career? We're seeking a Mechanical Claims Analyst to join a growing customer contact team supporting vehicle service contract claims. In this role, you'll use your hands-on automotive knowledge-without the physical demands of daily repair work-to evaluate mechanical issues, guide customers, and determine coverage for warranty claims. What You'll Do * Evaluate, investigate, and process mechanical claims using your in-depth understanding of vehicle systems. * Communicate by phone and email with dealerships, repair facilities, and vehicle owners. * Provide clear guidance on whether repairs are approved, denied, or require next steps based on coverage guidelines. * Explain claim outcomes to customers in a professional and empathetic manner. * Maintain detailed electronic records using multiple computer systems. * Partner with leaders and peers to uphold high standards of service and fairness. Types of Calls You'll Handle * Dealerships calling to verify whether repairs are covered under a vehicle service contract. * Vehicle owners asking why a claim was approved or denied. * Vehicle owners seeking guidance on symptoms, next steps, and how to start the claim process. Required Skills & Experience * At least 3 years of hands-on automotive mechanic experience (required). * Strong mechanical knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and diagnostic processes. * Ability to explain repair processes to both technical and non-technical individuals. * Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills. * Computer proficiency with ability to navigate multiple systems and manage documentation. * High school diploma or GED required. * ASE Certification is a plus, not required. * Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus. Preferred Experience (Not Required) * Experience using labor guides (AllData preferred). * Familiarity with automotive scan tools. Work Environment * Casual, corporate call center environment. * Individual cubicle workspace. * On the phone for the majority of the day. Training & Schedule Training: * 2 weeks fully onsite. * Followed by 1-2 months fully inoffice while you master systems and call handling. * After rampup: Hybrid schedule (typically 2 days in office, 3 days from home). * Mondays and Fridays are commonly remote (may vary by team). Hours: * Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm or 9:00am-6:00pm * Occasional Saturday rotation: 8:00am-3:00pm * Option to use a weekday floating day or work overtime. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Earth City, MO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
