Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, provides leadership in the development of the organization's strategic plan(s). Conducts environmental scans, organizational positioning analyses and other studies. Develops concepts into strategies Including quantitative analyses and recommendations; screens plans for strategic fit, feasibility and profitability prior to presentation to senior management. Coordinates input from all major business units to facilitate the Integration of individual business unit plans, best practices and global and multi-discipline perspectives. Conducts external research and quantitative analysis as required. Identifies, researches, analyzes and makes recommendations to support the organization's growth objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business administration or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Five (5) or more years equivalent work experience in information technology or business environment including project management, quantitative analysis, forecasting, process improvement or market/competitive analysis. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements. Demonstrated leadership ability, analytical and critical thinking ability with time management and management skills. Strong communications and human relations skills.

Job Specific Details:

This position will be responsible for:

  • Partner with leaders within Government Affairs and legal to develop public policy position
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and leader for public policy position development for cyber security/resiliency issues, including topics such as federal privacy regulations, collaboration of federal governmental agencies and entities
  • Research federal cybersecurity policies and practices and understand the impact to FedEx of pending legal or change could impact FedEx
  • Track federal policy developments to better support FedEx cybersecurity initiatives and recommend (if any) next steps
  • Develop systems for tracking interactions with stakeholders, and ensure regular cadence of communication where needed.
  • Maintain a library of bills and policies related to cybersecurity and collaborate with FedEx Government Affairs to maintain sources to guide our impact projections
  • Actively participate in trade association working groups related to the development of cyber policy
  • Represent FedEx in external forums to discuss cyber policy positions and perspectives
  • Identify issues, develop policy positions in a collaborative manner and report on progress
  • Represent and advocate for the company's cybersecurity policy positions on issues affecting our strategy and posture, leveraging existing lobbying practices
  • Identify, anticipate, and advise on political and legislative developments, risks and opportunities in cybersecurity, in concert with internal government affairs team.

Knowledge/Skills Considered a Plus:

  • Exceptional writing skills, include ability to synthesize policy documents and complex issues for internal and external customers
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to understand how legislative and regulatory proposals may impact FedEx
  • Excellent research skills, including ability to find new sources of information (e.g. data points) to support policy positions
  • Demonstrated capacity to undertake policy development and developing position papers and formal submissions for government agencies
  • A keen understanding of Congress, the Administration, federal agencies and key players
  • Self-starter, intrinsically motivated; excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)

This position can also be domiciled anywhere within the United States based on business needs.

Minimum Education

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential.
