Position Summary
This temporary position provides short-term support for SQL Server database operations, data integration, and reporting activities within the School of Medicine Information Technology department. The role focuses on operational support of existing systems, including SQL development, SQL Server Agent jobs, SSIS packages, and ETL processes, to ensure continuity of data services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL Server queries, views, functions, and stored procedures in support of operational and reporting needs.
* Monitor and support SQL Server Agent jobs, including reviewing job status, troubleshooting failures, and validating scheduled executions.
* Support SQL Server Integration Services ( SSIS) packages by monitoring data loads, validating data movement, and assisting with issue resolution.
* Perform routine data and database checks to support data quality, integrity, and performance.
* Assist with data extraction, transformation, and loading ( ETL) processes using Informatica ( IICS), SSIS, or comparable ETL tools.
* Support integration of data from multiple source systems into SQL Server environments.
* Assist with query performance tuning and indexing activities under the guidance of senior technical staff.
* Support operational and ad hoc reporting requests using SQL Server and approved reporting tools.
* Prepare and maintain documentation related to database objects, scheduled jobs, and data processes
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, computer science engineering or a closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or a Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in operations/systems work or closely related area; or an
- Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology or Networking Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in operations/systems work or closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journey level requires an additional one year of education or experience.
- Advanced level requires an additional two years of education or experience
Management Preferences
* Experience working with SQL Server in a database development, DBA support, or ETL-focused role.
* Experience supporting SQL Server Integration Services ( SSIS) packages.
* Experience with Informatica ( IICS) or another enterprise ETL platform.
* Experience with SQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting.
* Familiarity with higher education, healthcare, or enterprise data environments.
