Position Summary
This is a senior role responsible for Workday architecture, governance, integration, and optimization. Leads enterprise-wide Workday initiatives, including system design, configuration, and strategic roadmap development. The individual acts as a senior liaison between stakeholders, IT, and Enterprise Leadership to ensure solutions align with evolving business needs, regulatory requirements and long-term technology strategy
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Skills:
a. Designs and configures Workday modules across assigned functional area.
b. Oversees complex Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, and middleware platforms.
c. Leads performance tuning, system audits, data quality governance, and compliance activities.
d. Develops advanced security frameworks, role-based access models, and audit controls. e. Defines enterprise reporting standards leveraging Workday Reporting and Prism Analytics.
f. Manages technical aspects of Workday system upgrades, including configuration updates, regression testing, and validation of new features.
g. Ensures technical readiness for Workday release cycles and coordinates upgrade-related tasks across teams.

2. Communication and Influencing skills:
a. Develops and manages detailed work plans and timelines for Workday projects.
b. Identifies resources needed to complete assigned tasks and provides timely status reports.
c. Drives consensus among functional stakeholders and IT on system solutions.
d. Facilitates leadership briefings to present technical strategy, project milestones, and ROI analyses.
e. Authors strategic documentation and governance standards.

3. Customer Relationship Skills:
a. Develops strong relationships with business end-user communities and external Workday partners.
b. Clearly articulates Workday concepts, design decisions and impacts.
c. Serves as advisor to business leaders regarding Workday capabilities and opportunities. d. Champions user adoption and optimization initiatives.

4. Cross-Functional Integration and Reporting:
a. Leads design, build, and testing of Workday integrations.
b. Develops and documents data transformation rules and reconciliation procedures.
c. Leads efforts to standardize and streamline reporting practices.
d. Collaborates with enterprise architecture teams to ensure Workday interoperability and scalability.
e. Coordinates integration testing and validation during Workday upgrade cycles to ensure seamless functionality across systems.
f. Partners with cross-functional teams assess impact of new Workday features on existing integrations and reporting frameworks.

5. Key Responsibilities:
a. Provides strategic mentorship to Workday analysts and administrators.
b. Develops technical standards and best practices for Workday configurations and integrations.
c. Serves as IT Workday lead for executive stakeholders during redesigns and major initiatives.
d. Plans and executes system upgrades, including feature adoption, regression testing, and impact analysis.
e. Coordinates upgrade cycles with Workday release schedules, ensuring compliance with organizational change management processes.
f. Leads validation of new functionality, security updates, and reporting enhancements introduced in Workday releases.
g. Leads scoping, planning, and execution of enterprise Workday programs. h. Authors executive-level project proposals, charters, and risk assessments
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or 6 years equivalent experience
  • Workday Pro Certification PMP, ITIL
  • Workday HCM - preferred
Experience
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in Workday systems design, implementation, and support Experience leading Workday implementations and governance.
  • Experience in healthcare or higher education

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
