The per diem, nonexempt, Specialty Pharmacist will have the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise by evaluating and interpreting medication orders, compounding, and dispensing prescriptions in accordance with legal and professional standards. You will play a critical role in identifying, preventing, and resolving medication-related issues to ensure safe, effective, and individualized patient care. Through the application of evidence-based protocols, you will promote clinically sound and cost-effective drug therapy, contributing to improved patient outcomes and advancing the standard of pharmaceutical care.

Pharmacy Location: Pharmacy Location: Located within Holzer Health 448 Jackson Pike in Gallipolis, OH

Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm

Required Qualifications:

  • ACPE- accredited PharmD degree
  • Active Ohio state pharmacist license in good standing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to review and manage specialty medication therapies for complex, chronic, or high-cost conditions
  • Demonstrated ability to provide patient education and counseling, focusing on adherence, administration, side effects, and outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate care with providers, payers, and manufacturers to ensure therapy access and continuity
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee prior authorizations and utilization management, ensuring compliance with payer and program requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor effectiveness and safety of therapy, including lab values, adherence metrics, and patient-reported outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with REMS and accreditation standards, including documentation and reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to support quality initiatives and outcomes reporting, meeting specialty pharmacy performance and regulatory metrics
  • Proven comfortable interacting professionally with patients and providers via phone, in person, or telehealth

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience working in a hospital and/or retail setting

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44.09 to $78.70 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
