Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to support our manufacturing operations by ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting a safe workplace. This role is ideal for an early-career EHS professional looking to grow their expertise in a dynamic industrial environment.

Principal Purpose of Position:

Health and Safety

  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards

  • Assist in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions

  • Support safety training programs, including onboarding, PPE usage, and emergency response

  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, and compliance activities

Environmental Compliance

  • Monitor and report on environmental metrics including waste, emissions, and water usage

  • Assist with environmental permitting, reporting, and regulatory submissions (e.g., EPA, state agencies)

  • Support hazardous waste management and chemical inventory tracking

  • Participate in sustainability initiatives and environmental improvement projects

Program Support and Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement EHS initiatives and drive continuous improvement

  • Maintain and update EHS documentation, procedures, and management systems

  • Stay current with regulatory changes and industry best practices

Education and/or Training:

  • High School Diploma and 8+ years or AA degree and 3-5 years of experience required.

  • Four-year college degree in related safety science field or engineering. CSP, CIH or other professional certificates preferred.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years of safety or manufacturing experience

  • Knowledge of instructional methods and techniques.

  • Knowledge of agency, professional and/or industry standards and practices.

  • Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of the principles of production, processing, storage and distribution of manufactured goods.

  • Knowledge of applicable measurement and/or sampling methods and technologies.

Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge:
(Ranges from task-focused to integrating related functions, to broadly strategic integration)

  • Accountable for technical contribution to a project team or sub-team.

  • Works with others to achieve team goals through expanded knowledge and skills within own function.

  • May be accountable for subsets for project deliverables but has no formal role in managing projects.

  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize time and workload to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

  • Ability to develop and/or implement new policies/procedures/standards and/or rules/regulations

  • Ability to lead the work of others by monitoring, reviewing, training co-workers and/or delegating work.

Communicating & Influencing Skills:
