Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual Technician to support the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of commercial AV systems on large-scale infrastructure projects. The technician will install and terminate low-voltage cabling, mount AV hardware, build and organize equipment racks, and assist with configuring control systems and audio platforms. This role requires strong technical knowledge of commercial AV systems, the ability to read and follow blueprints, and experience working in professional environments such as corporate offices, retail spaces, educational facilities, industrial locations, and healthcare environments. Projects are located throughout the Orange County and Los Angeles areas, with a typical start time of 7:00 AM and an expected 40-45 hour workweek.

Job Responsibilities




  • Install audio and video control systems, including platforms such as Crestron and Extron



  • Install projectors, displays, televisions, speakers, amplifiers, microphones, and sound masking systems



  • Mount AV equipment on various wall and ceiling types using appropriate hardware and mounting systems



  • Install, route, and terminate low-voltage AV cabling including 18/2, coaxial, CAT5e, and CAT6



  • Terminate connectors including RG6, HD-SDI, SDI, XLR, and RCA



  • Build, organize, and wire AV equipment racks



  • Dress, label, and manage cabling from IT closets to device locations such as racks, displays, projectors, and speakers



  • Install cable pathways including J-hooks and D-rings



  • Troubleshoot basic audio, video, and control system issues



  • Read and follow installation drawings and blueprints



  • Follow written and verbal instructions while maintaining professional communication with team members and leadership



  • Maintain jobsite cleanliness and follow safety protocols including proper PPE and OSHA guidelines



  • Assist with coordinating work tasks and supporting junior technicians when necessary




Job Requirements




  • High school diploma or GED equivalent



  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial audio visual installation experience



  • Experience installing, terminating, and troubleshooting AV racks, speakers, projectors, displays, microphones, and related equipment



  • Experience working with AV control and audio platforms including Crestron, Extron, QSC (Q-SYS), Biamp, and Dante



  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and AV system diagrams



  • Basic to intermediate troubleshooting knowledge of AV software platforms



  • Ability to assist with coordinating tasks and guiding junior technicians on project sites



  • Active OSHA 10 certification preferred



  • Ability to work on ladders and scissor lifts and perform work in confined spaces



  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds



  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods during a shift



  • Ability to work in commercial environments including corporate offices, retail spaces, schools, industrial facilities, and healthcare environments




Education




  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required




Work Experience




  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial audio visual installation experience
