Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Resident Yr1 to join the team. This role will be full-time Monday - Friday; Days/evenings rotating shift.

Pharmacy Resident Yr1 Job Responsibilities:

  • Functions effectively as a member of the healthcare team and establishes a collaborative working relationship with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Weighs, measures, and prepares medication products by utilizing the appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Interprets medication orders and accurately transcribes to computerized patient medication profiles.
  • Accurately compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals including sterile, chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition products.
  • Issues controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records as required by law.
  • Takes ownership for daily department operations in the absence of a manager/supervisor when needed.
  • Displays initiative in preventing, identifying, and resolving Pharmacy related patient care problems.
  • Designs, recommends, monitors, and evaluates patient specific therapeutic regimens that incorporate the principles of evidence-based medicine.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).

  • Licensure: eligible for Licensure in Virginia.

  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association for Critical Care within 90 days of hire.
