As an HSE Regional Leader, you will play a critical role in strengthening our safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting operational excellence across multiple sites within your region.

You will provide functional leadership to site-level HSE teams, partner closely with Operations and Functional leaders, and serve as a trusted advisor on risk management, compliance, and incident prevention. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on engagement to drive continuous improvement and operational integrity.

As an HSE Regional Leader, you will be responsible for:

Regional HSE Leadership

  • Providing functional leadership and oversight to site-based and frontline HSE professionals.

  • Setting clear expectations for regulatory compliance, risk management, and incident prevention.

  • Coaching and developing HSE staff to strengthen technical capability and leadership effectiveness.

  • Serving as the escalation point for significant HSE issues, incidents, regulatory actions, and customer concerns.

Operational & Business Partnership

  • Partnering with Operations, Engineering, and Business Leaders to integrate HSE requirements into daily operations, projects, and planning.

  • Advising leaders on risk identification, mitigation strategies, and safe work execution (construction, commissioning, maintenance).

  • Supporting customer and stakeholder engagement related to HSE expectations, audits, and performance.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensuring consistent implementation of corporate HSE policies, standards, and management systems (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 aligned).

  • Monitoring compliance with local, national, and regional regulations and driving corrective actions.

  • Leading or supporting incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action tracking.

  • Analyzing regional HSE performance trends and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Program & Initiative Leadership

  • Leading regional HSE initiatives and improvement projects of moderate scope and complexity.

  • Coordinating multiple initiatives simultaneously while aligning with business priorities.

  • Representing the region in enterprise-wide programs as a subject matter expert.

  • Managing initiatives typically executed over 3-6 months, with impact realized within 2-12 months.

Communication & Influence

  • Communicating HSE expectations, risks, and performance clearly to frontline teams and leadership.

  • Preparing and delivering regional HSE reports, briefings, and recommendations.

  • Influencing stakeholders without direct authority to drive alignment and accountability.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related field OR have a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible HSE experience.

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience supporting regional or multisite operations in an HSE leadership or senior HSE role.

  • Have working knowledge of occupational safety, environmental compliance, and risk management principles in industrial or operational environments.

  • Have the ability to travel within the region as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have demonstrated experience leading or influencing HSE professionals without direct line authority.

  • Have experience conducting incident investigations, audits, and regional improvement initiatives.

  • Have experience supporting complex operations such as field service, manufacturing, energy, industrial services, or construction.

  • Have familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA, and applicable regional safety and environmental regulations.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Have strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, influence, and build trust at all organizational levels.

  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical risk into clear, practical language.

  • Have strong analytical, organizational, and problemsolving abilities.

  • Have the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects across several sites simultaneously.

  • Have the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a matrixed organization.
