Overall Summary

This position supervises all aspects of both Tool & Die and Prototype/Specialty Instrument manufacturing across all shifts. The Supervisor will mentor direct reports to further develop the skills required for their job functions. The Supervisor will also interface with cross-functional personnel, including Production, R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, Packaging, Planning, Purchasing and Facilities. This role may also be required to interact with outside suppliers on the manufacturing of tools, fixtures, prototypes, or special instruments.

Your duties will include:



  • Supervise all areas of machining, programming, and processing related to tool & die, prototypes and specialty instruments.
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and direct manufacturing operations to meet project timelines.
  • Maintain and improve manpower utilization to maximize employee efficiencies.
  • Verify that fixtures or tools perform as required by Manufacturing Engineering and Production.
  • Set goals and objectives, measure progress and strive for a continuous improvement culture.
  • Identify external suppliers and coordinate/track outside manufacturing services.
  • Develop and train employees, as well as conduct personnel reviews.
  • Enforce company personnel policies through a consistent application of principles, maintain a robust training program and understand/adhere to all FDA, GMP and ISO requirements.

About You

We might be a great match if you have:



  • Manufacturing experience in the following disciplines a plus: medical device manufacturing with emphasis on tool & die, prototypes and instruments, foundry, CNC machining, metal finishing, heat treating, cleaning of metals / plastics, packaging, and/or quality.
  • Training and/or experience in the following is preferred: GMP, GD&T, lean manufacturing, mainframe computer systems, Microsoft Office applications, and TeamCenter/NX CAD.
  • Strong leadership skills including organizational skills, the ability to formulate and execute plans, and the ability to instill teamwork within the subordinate group with the proper sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings, inspection sheets, and production methods.



YOUR EDUCATION

Required: High School Diploma

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing discipline, Engineering, or Business

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 8 years machining experience, including manual and CNC machinery, with 5 years being Prototype, T&D or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years' experience in medical device manufacturing.
