Job Description:

Join our New Product Development team as a Senior Test Engineer, where you will play a key role in bringing next-generation microcontroller products from initial silicon to high-volume production. This position offers broad exposure to the full NPI lifecycle and provides hands-on experience in testing, characterization, and qualification, building a strong foundation for a long-term career in the semiconductor industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new test programs for microcontroller products using simulations and test development tools; generate, debug, and release test patterns, silicon characterization programs, and product qualification programs for new designs.
  • Maintain and enhance existing test programs to improve test efficiency, manufacturing yield, and production throughput, including test flow optimization, test time reduction, and cold/hot test content optimization or elimination.
  • Interface closely with Microchip manufacturing and test engineering teams in Thailand to debug and resolve test-related issues during new product qualification and product release phases.
  • Collaborate with overseas New Product Development teams to identify, analyze, and resolve silicon and test issues across global development efforts.
  • Analyze parametric and functional data collected from new silicon and generate characterization reports, including statistical analysis such as histograms and distribution plots across multiple operating conditions.
  • Serve as a technical driver for production and qualification test development, taking ownership of analyzing, debugging, and resolving test issues encountered during high-volume manufacturing.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 7.5 years of experience in silicon test development, validation, qualification, and correlation methodologies.
  • Direct experience developing, releasing, and sustaining wafer sort and final test programs for high-volume production.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems and microcontroller architectures.
  • Proficiency in test software development and automation using Python, C, C#, and/or Visual Basic.
  • Hands-on experience developing and debugging ATE hardware and software (e.g., Teradyne J750 or similar platforms).
  • Skilled in using laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters (DVMs), logic analyzers, and waveform generators.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities, with the ability to identify root cause issues related to silicon, probe, package, or test conditions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting quality, and schedule objectives.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document test methodologies, analyze results, and present technical findings to engineering and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mixed-signal device testing, including operational amplifiers, comparators, voltage references, ADCs, DACs, voltage regulators, and oscillator circuits.
  • Familiarity with non-volatile memory architectures and test methodologies.
