About this Role - Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst

We are looking for a talented GIS Analyst to ensure accurate, detailed GIS mapping information is available for project managers, engineers, field crews, and leadership to support safe and efficient construction of electrical infrastructure. GIS Analysts support construction projects by creating, maintaining, and analyzing geospatial data critical to planning, design, field operations, permitting, asset management, & as-built construction.

What You'll Do

- Develop, update, and maintain geospatial datasets for construction projects.

- Publish and maintain mobile GIS maps/apps (e.g., ArcGIS Field Maps, Collector) for operations.

- Simultaneously support multiple project teams during planning, kickoff, construction, closeout, & lessons learned stages of project lifecycle.

- Perform spatial analysis to support route selection, risk assessment, environmental review, and constructability planning.

- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot GIS services, layers, and web maps in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise/Online environments.

- Integrate GIS data with internal systems.

- Train field personnel on mobile GIS tools and processes.

- Assist with GPS data collection and integration of field-verified as-built information.

What You'll Bring

- Associate or bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering Technology, Environmental Studies, or related field; or equivalent industry experience.

- 1-3+ years of professional experience using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online (or Enterprise).

- Strong understanding of geospatial data formats (shapefiles, geodatabases, CAD integration, GPS data).

- Understanding of state/federal permitting processes or environmental layers (wetlands, protected species, floodplain, etc.).

- Experience in the utility, telecom, or construction industry.

- Proficiency with GPS data collection devices and workflows

- Ability to read and interpret utility plans, construction drawings, and as-built documentation.

- Familiarity with utility construction processes, right-of-way, permitting, and infrastructure terminology.

- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
