Job Summary
F3EA is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to support the development, integration, testing, and sustainment of Blue Water Instrumentation (BWI) capabilities at the Point Mugu Sea Range. This role directly contributes to closing critical gaps in Over-the-Horizon maritime instrumentation, telemetry relay systems, command-and-control experimentation, and range safety support. The technician will operate in a hands-on R&D and test environment, supporting electrical system builds, wiring, integration, and troubleshooting across laboratory and field environments. This position is designed for a technically proficient individual who can take electrical designs and turn them into functioning, field-ready systems. This position is focused on hands-on electrical integration and execution in an R&D environment, where speed, precision, and technical competence directly impact mission success. The role bridges engineering design and operational capability-ensuring electrical systems are built, integrated, and perform reliably in real-world test conditions.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build, wire, and integrate electrical and electronic systems supporting BWI prototype development
- Perform cable fabrication, harnessing, and connectorization for power, signal, RF, and data systems
- Support integration of power distribution systems, embedded electronics, sensors, and telemetry components
- Assist engineers with electrical system assembly, integration, and iterative modifications
- Conduct bench testing, validation, and system checkout using standard electrical test equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, signal issues, and system integration problems in both lab and field environments
- Support installation and integration of electrical systems on testbeds, platforms, and range infrastructure
- Assist with developmental network and communications setups for test environments
- Execute preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration of electrical and electronic equipment
- Support test event execution, including setup, monitoring, and teardown of instrumentation systems
- Maintain configuration control of electrical components, wiring diagrams, and system baselines
