Technology Business Systems Consultant 3 - Contingent

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Technical Writer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

We are seeking a Technical Writer with strong expertise in the IT domain to create clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for enterprise systems. This role requires the ability to translate complex technical concepts into content tailored for diverse audiences, including engineers and non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and highly collaborative, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables
• Develop technical documentation for enterprise IT systems, ensuring clarity and completeness
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams to gather information and validate content
• Identify gaps in documentation and proactively address them
• Tailor content for different audiences, from technical engineers to business stakeholders
• Create process maps and workflow visualizations to support understanding of complex systems
• Implement version control across all documentation deliverables
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining consistent follow-up with stakeholders
• Ensure documentation aligns with organizational standards and supports knowledge transfer and retention

Requirements:

• 4+ years of Business Systems Data experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education
• Proven experience in technical writing within the IT domain, with the ability to understand enterprise systems
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills: ability to ask probing questions professionally, clear written and verbal communication, confident yet diplomatic when pressing for information
• Ability to set and maintain priorities, adapt to changing needs, and work independently
• Strong multitasking skills and flexibility to meet project demands
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Copilot (or equivalent tools)
• Knowledge of process mapping and workflow visualization
• Experience with version control practices
• Collaborative mindset with openness to feedback and change

Desired skills:

• Familiarity with documentation's role in upskilling and reskilling
• Understanding of regulatory requirements in IT environments
• Proficiency in Confluence, SharePoint, and similar platforms
• AI proficiency: experience with effective prompting, iterative refinement, and output validation

Pay range: $36.56- $44.56 per hour
