Software Development Consultant - CTJ - TS/SCI

We are looking to hire a Software Development Consultantto join Microsoft Federal.

This role is intended for an earlycareer engineer who is eager to learn, build handson experience, and grow technical depth across cloud platforms, software development practices, and secure environments.This position provides exposure to realworld customer scenarios, mentorship from senior engineers, and opportunities to develop foundational skills in cloudnative development, DevOps, and secure application delivery.

• Contribute asa Cloud Engineering or delivery team supporting Microsoft Federal customers
• Assist in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software components and services
• Develop and enhance backend services or APIs using supported languages and frameworks under senior guidance
• Support integration with Azure services such as storage, messaging, and identity components
• Participate in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving development, build, or environment issues
• Follow established secure coding standards and development best practices
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team ceremoniesLearn and apply cloudnative and containerized development patterns over time
• Document work and contribute to team knowledge sharing

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field
  1+ year(s) work experience in relevant area of business OR equivalent experience.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of professional experience in software development, engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Familiarity with at least one modern programming language such asC#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScriptBasic understanding of cloud concepts, preferably within Microsoft Azure
• Exposure to source control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
• Willingness to learn infrastructureascode concepts (e.g., Bicep, ARM, Terraform) under guidanceFamiliarity with REST APIs and servicebased application design conceptsInterest in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with peers and stakeholdersEligibility to work on U.S. Government projects (including the ability to obtain a security clearance, if required)

Technology Consulting IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,200 - $154,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $99,700 - $167,300 per year.
