Job Description

The Missouri S&T Athletic Department, a 17-sport NCAA Division II intercollegiate program and member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), is seeking a rising professional to join its administrative leadership team as the Assistant Athletic Director for NCAA Compliance.

The selected candidate will be highly organized, driven, and detail-oriented, with exceptional multitasking, communication, and leadership skills. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics and serves as the primary contact for all NCAA compliance-related matters. The successful candidate will provide oversight and leadership in maintaining a culture of compliance and integrity across the department.

Key functions are eligibility certification, financial aid processing, monitoring countability athletic related activities, recruiting oversight, rules education, and the preparation and submission of all NCAA and GLVC reports. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate documentation, timely reporting, and consistent adherence to NCAA, GLVC, and institutional rules and regulations.

This role will also contribute to the overall success of the department by planning, managing, and executing student-athlete development initiatives, programs, and events. The Assistant Athletic Director for NCAA Compliance will serve as the sport supervisor for men's and women's soccer, cross country, and track and field, working closely with coaches to support program success and student-athlete experience.

Additionally, the position will oversee the coordination and execution of special events, including but not limited to: Military Appreciation Day, Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day, Friends and Family Weekend, and Homecoming, and may be assigned additional responsibilities in Athletics to support the operations of the department and the broader University, as determined by strengths and professional expertise.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing several tasks at once, and demonstrate a strong work ethic, the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of individuals. They must have a team-first mentality, be able to solve- problems with critical thinking. This individual will serve as a role for both colleagues and student-athletes.

Essential functions include:

  • Direct and manage all aspects of the NCAA compliance program in accordance with NCAA, GLVC, and institutional rules
  • Serve as the primary resource for NCAA rules education and interpretations for coaches, staff, and student-athletes
  • Certify initial and continuing eligibility for all student-athletes, including transfers
  • Monitor compliance-related activities, including recruiting, financial aid, playing and practice seasons, and the transfer portal
  • Investigate and report NCAA violations and prepare waivers and appeals, as needed
  • Prepare and submit required NCAA reports and documentation, including squad lists, financial aid reports, and Academic Performance Census/ASR/GSR
  • Administer athletic financial aid in coordination with the financial aid office, including scholarships and grant-in-aid letters
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress and collaborate with campus partners to support academic success
  • Maintain and update the department's NCAA Compliance Manual
  • Represent the department on campus, within the GLVC, and at the national level through committee service
  • Serve as a sport supervisor and game administrator for assigned sports
  • Plan and execute student-athlete meetings, the education of Title IX and the prevention of sexual violence, and student-athlete professional and financial development programs
  • Serve as the liaison between student support and athletics and represent athletics by serving on various University and conference committees
  • Plan and execute special events
  • Evenings, weekends, and holiday work will be required at times
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience with NCAA Division II compliance
  • Knowledge of Cai, Teamwork, Peoplesoft, and Microsoft 360
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Focused, hard-working, driven, dependable
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,916-$55,080 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
