Senior Technician

Basic Function

This position assists engineers with the assembly and fabrication of prototype systems to support Integrated Defense Solutions programs.

Nature and Scope

This position reports administratively to an Engineering Capability Manager or higher technical staff member. Work is performed as part of a team to produce solutions for both internal and external customers.

Essential Functions

Assists higher-level technical staff to support engineering builds

Success Factors

• Conducts assigned work, with limited supervision, required for the project according to instructions or protocol

• Communicates results and problems to the supervisor
• Ask for help when needed
• Follows MRIGlobal safety and security policies and procedures
• Constructs components or equipment per approved design
• Maintains fabrication facilities as directed
• Assists with other tasks as assigned
• Attention to detail

Required Skills:

• Desire to work in an engineering design and fabrication environment
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with technical staff in a team-based environment
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred Skills:

• Previous fabrication shop experience
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications

Training

• Initial training in design and tasks will be provided by MRIGlobal staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or a related technical field

• Hands-on experience with fabrication tools, machinery, and assembly processes
• 2 years of college or relevant experience

Pay Range - $43,652 - $51,000

The salary range is intended as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed offer, as compensation depends on various factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
