School of Social Work The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) School of Social Work is a freestanding unit renowned for its achievements in research, teaching, and community engagement. The School is committed to developing and disseminating knowledge for practice, developing responsive social welfare programs, and promoting social and economic justice. Our BSW and MSW degree programs prepare students for social work practice in public and private agencies, in the areas of mental health, health care, children and family services, public school settings, and leadership and social change, and students gain knowledge and skills to work with individuals, groups, communities, organizations, and policy in these areas.
