Job Overview:

Performs CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Exercises professional judgment in performance of procedures and patient care. Conducts other related duties assigned and maintains knowledge of other areas in the department. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • 1 year CT experience required.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • NJ License required.
  • AART CT Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Days
  • PD

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes patient physical condition, age and suspected pathology for proper technique,
  • Assists Radiologist in performing certain radiographic procedures
  • Correctly marks images with time and body position
  • Ensures patient comfort, physical and mental well being during the examination
  • Ensures that room is properly stocked with all needed supplies prior to the beginning of the procedure
  • Explains procedures, keeps patient informed of progress and assists patients in transferring on to/off examination table for procedures
  • Observes equipment for proper functioning and reports malfunctions to supervisor
  • Properly prepares room before patient enters and cleans it after patient exits
  • Properly uses the Radiology Information System to arrive, change if necessary and complete cases
  • Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to
