| Posting Summary |
The Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions is one of seven academic Departments, located in the School of Health Professions. The Department offers a full career ladder of graduate and undergraduate degrees, including an M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Track that is accredited by
CACREP. The Department also offers a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. Additional information about the School of Health Professions is available at http://shp.rutgers.edu
This is an open rank, 12-month faculty position. The successful candidate will support the preparation of students who will become professional counselors, educators, researchers, and advanced clinicians in the effective treatment of people with mental illnesses and disabilities via counseling services and rehabilitation intervention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Teach master's and doctoral level counseling courses related to mental health counseling and rehabilitation counseling
* Teach undergraduate courses
* Develop curricula materials for on-campus and web-based courses
* Teaching in both on-campus and web-based learning environments is required
* Pursue a relevant research agenda
* Assist in program accreditation preparation
* Advise graduate students
* Participate in professional association, community service and university
service activities
* Understand and adhere to legacy Rutgers

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Minimum Education/Specialty, License/Certification:
- Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision, Psychiatric Rehabilitation or equivalent required, preferably from a CACREP accredited program
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or eligibility to become a LPC in New Jersey
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience as a mental health counselor
- Knowledge of / interest in psychiatric rehabilitation
- Higher education teaching experience (for recent graduates, this may be limited to graduate assistant activities and/or guest lectures)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), or eligibility
- Evidence of teaching excellence in higher education
- Evidence of scholarly productivity
- Professional experience providing evidence-based interventions to individuals living with serious mental illness
- Professional identity within counseling professions as evidenced by membership in professional counseling organizations

| Physical Demands and Work Environment |
There are no significant physical demands associated with this position. There are no special vision requirements. The work environment includes classrooms and offices. There is moderate noise. The candidate will work primarily on the Piscataway campus and will have access to a standard computer, phone, and internet access to perform the duties outlined. Some local travel is required to make clinical site visits and attend meetings with stakeholders. |
