The Department of Dermatology within the School of Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing team.

Our department provides care across seven rural locations within the University of Missouri Health Care network, in addition to our primary sites in Columbia and Jefferson City, Missouri. We are deeply committed to expanding access to dermatologic care in underserved communities and have led teledermatology initiatives in rural Missouri for more than 20 years. Our program is supported by modern facilities, a dedicated team of faculty and staff, and a comprehensive dermatopathology service.

The Dermatology APP (Advanced Practice Provider) is a valued member of our care team. The APP will work under the supervision of the physician team and will be responsible for providing excellent, comprehensive care for patients with general dermatology needs.

The APP contributes to excellence in patient care, research, and teaching while providing leadership to the organization and the profession.

The primary responsibility is the management of patient care within the MUHC market region. The qualified candidate will provide weekly patient care in Jefferson City and Owensville, Missouri.

Duties and Responsibilities include providing direct care to patients through the following activities:
1. Take comprehensive history and perform physical examinations.
2. Evaluate and treat patients based on history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to practice protocols and the collaborative scope of practice agreement.
3. Perform dermatologic procedures in accordance with procedural privileges, skill, and proficiency as approved by the Department Chair and/or supervising physician.
4. Initiate referrals to other health care providers and/or consult with the attending or collaborating physician.
5. Document and bill for direct care provided.
6. Utilize current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice.
7. Perform and participate in quality/performance improvement activities.
8. Participate in and support accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization.
9. Demonstrate responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education.
10. Potential to precept other advanced practice providers and facilitate the learning of new team members.

Shift

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Master of Science in Nursing degree.
Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
Must be granted a "Document of Recognition" from the Missouri Board of Nursing.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $99,174.40 - $161,720.00 annually
Grade: PAT - 013
University Title: NURSE PRACTITIONER - SC II
