The Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) Practice partners with organizations to accelerate AI-driven transformation through embedded consulting, hands-on solution delivery, and strategic capability building. Our consultants work directly alongside client teams to close the gap between AI potential and real-world business outcomes-guiding adoption strategies, leading delivery initiatives, and building the organizational capacity for sustained transformation.

About the Role

Role Overview

The Senior AI Consultant within the Forward Deployed Engineering practice delivers complete workstreams and specialized AI solution components with deep technical expertise. Operating as an independent contributor, the Senior AI Consultant is focused on delivery excellence while building meaningful client relationships and contributing to the practice's growth. This consultant participates in C-suite client interactions with growing confidence, provides informal mentoring to junior team members, and supports the development of sales opportunities through direct technical expertise and client engagement.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver complete workstreams or specialized solution components with deep technical expertise, maintaining high-quality outcomes within timelines
  • Facilitate client workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement sessions, navigating conflicting perspectives and ambiguous needs
  • Lead use case identification, prioritization, and validation activities, including data analysis, experimentation design, and Proof of Concept development
  • Participate in C-suite client interactions, demonstrating executive presence and communicating complex AI concepts with business clarity
  • Support sales team efforts through opportunity qualification, proposal contributions, and client presentations
  • Provide informal mentoring to junior consultants through collaborative work, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback
  • Contribute to practice improvement initiatives through methodology feedback, tool testing, and lessons learned documentation
  • Demonstrate initiative and proactive problem-solving in ambiguous, rapidly changing situations with high ownership of deliverables
  • Engage with development teams to understand effort estimation processes and iterative AI development approaches
  • Serve as liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring accurate requirement translation and solution alignment
  • Contribute to team efficiency by identifying process improvements and sharing knowledge

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a consulting or AI delivery role, with documented evidence of full workstream delivery and proficiency across multiple AI platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to independently deliver complete workstreams or specialized AI solution components, maintaining quality outcomes and meeting delivery timelines
  • Proven track record navigating complex stakeholder environments, translating ambiguous business needs into technical requirements, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Deep expertise in Generative AI, ML applications, and cloud AI platforms, with hands-on experience across multiple technology stacks including Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, AI Builder, Copilot) and emerging automation tools such as n8n, Make, and Zapier
  • Advanced proficiency architecting intelligent automation solutions using low-code AI platforms, including AI agents with autonomous task execution, multi-tool orchestration, planning capabilities, and complex reasoning workflows within visual, configuration-based environments
  • Strong understanding of coding concepts, APIs, databases, natural language processing, Azure AI services, and prompt engineering, with the ability to independently support and extend low-code/no-code implementations
  • Background designing scalable intelligent automation systems with AI agents and autonomous workflows, including data model design, connector configuration, and third-party service integration
  • History of evaluating and selecting optimal low-code platforms for specific use cases, based on technical requirements, platform capabilities, and integration needs
  • Prior experience supporting opportunity identification, proposal development, and client presentations through technical expertise and direct client relationships
  • Track record staying current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape, learning new tools quickly, and working independently in ambiguous situations with minimal supervision
  • Advanced communication skills with ability to convey complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences; excellent written and verbal communication for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience applying Agile methodologies, SDLC practices, and AI Ops principles
  • Ability to demonstrate proactive problem-solving and taking action independently while knowing when to ask questions; comfort working in ambiguous situations; adaptive and introspective, with willingness to learn, guide, lead, and follow as the work requires
  • Learn new tools quickly and operate effectively outside comfort zones in a rapidly changing technology landscape
  • Demonstrate high ownership across all assigned work, including smaller projects and engagements with ambiguous requirements
  • Build technical and domain expertise through continuous learning and feedback application
  • Relevant degree in business, engineering, computer science, information systems, data analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional or academic experience
  • Travel for this role may be up to 80%, based on client and project needs. Actual travel requirements may vary

  • Prior exposure to business analysis, consulting, technology roles, citizen development, or digital transformation initiatives
  • Background in project support, requirements gathering, or stakeholder interaction in academic or professional settings
  • Demonstrated interest in AI adoption, with hands-on engagement across multiple technology stacks or platforms
