Senior Manager, Construction

Play an integral role in shaping how complex construction projects are delivered-bringing strategy, execution, and leadership together to consistently achieve outcomes that matter. You will step into a highly visible leadership role where your decisions directly influence project success, client confidence, and organizational performance. Purpose of the role
Play an integral role in leading and directing construction activities across specialized, complex projects. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within or below budget, and fully aligned with contractual commitments and customer expectations. This role focuses on translating strategic objectives into actionable execution plans-balancing technical, commercial, and operational priorities while delivering sustainable, high-quality outcomes.

You will be responsible for

  • Providing overall leadership and direction for construction execution across one or more high-impact projects
  • Developing and overseeing integrated project plans that align business, production, and organizational priorities
  • Ensuring adherence to schedule, cost, safety, and quality objectives while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations
  • Building a deep understanding of customer objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies to drive successful delivery
  • Leading and developing project teams, including direct and indirect reports, through coaching, performance management, and capability building
  • Troubleshooting complex project challenges and developing pragmatic, results-focused solutions
  • Driving continuous improvement across systems, processes, and tools, and supporting the development of new ways of working
  • Communicating effectively with senior leadership and clients, presenting complex proposals, risks, and recommendations
  • Influencing stakeholders and fostering collaboration across internal functions and external partners
  • Leading organizational change initiatives within projects, ensuring alignment and successful implementation of new ideas and strategies

What you'll bring to the role

  • A degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline-or equivalent practical experience
  • Typically 15+ years of progressive experience in construction, project management, or related technical environments, including leadership roles
  • Proven ability to manage complex, high-value construction projects or multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience working with contracts, cost control, and project delivery frameworks
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with experience managing teams, driving accountability, and influencing outcomes
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to develop tactical and strategic solutions in dynamic environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence presenting to senior leaders and clients
  • A collaborative and participative leadership style that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Strong understanding of construction systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and enhance them
  • The ability to translate organizational goals into clear, executable project plans and deliver measurable results
