Description
The Senior Financial Transformation Program Manager leads high-impact, enterprise finance transformation initiatives that are critical to CFO priorities and business continuity. This role owns delivery across complex, in-flight financial programs, stabilizing execution, reducing risk, and enabling timely executive decision-making across finance, technology, and external partners. Success is measured by delivery stabilization, decision velocity, and sustained adoption-not methodology adherence. Primary Objectives (First 30-60 Days) Primary objectives include:
- Stabilize active finance transformation initiatives in the CFO backlog
- Establish clear delivery ownership, sequencing, and risk visibility
- Enable executive decisions on scope, trade-offs, and priorities
- Reduce dependency risk associated with third-party delivery partners
Scope of Responsibility Owns
- End-to-end delivery accountability for finance and ERP-adjacent transformation programs
- Program health assessment, recovery planning, and execution reset where required
- Executive-level status, risk reporting, and decision framing
- Vendor performance management and delivery accountability
Influences
- Finance leadership alignment (CFO, Controllers, FP&A)
- PMO governance standards as applied pragmatically to finance programs
- Change, controls, and adoption readiness across finance teams

- Day-to-day accounting operations
- ERP configuration or hands-on system build
Key Responsibilities Financial Transformation & Delivery
- Lead complex, multi-workstream finance transformation initiatives, including ERP modernization, compliance-driven programs, and acquisition onboarding
- Rapidly diagnose delivery risks and implement corrective actions
- Translate ambiguous requirements into executable delivery plans
Governance & Executive Enablement
- Establish lightweight, effective governance to support speed and control
- Drive timely executive decisions by clearly framing options, risks, and impacts
- Escalate decisively when progress stalls or ownership is unclear
Stakeholder & Vendor Leadership
- Partner closely with CFO, Controllers, and senior finance leaders
- Manage system integrators and vendors to outcomes, not activity
- Navigate commercial constraints while protecting enterprise delivery outcomes
Controls, Compliance & Adoption
- Ensure financial controls, audit readiness, and regulatory requirements are embedded in delivery
- Lead change management, training, and post-go-live stabilization
- Transition solutions into sustainable, finance-owned operations
PMO Enablement & Capability Development
- Serve as a senior PMO practitioner, providing guidance on delivery standards, governance, and best practices as applied to complex transformation programs
- Contribute to the evolution and practical application of PMO methodologies, templates, and tools (not day-to-day administration)
- Mentor and coach junior PMs and program managers, particularly in navigating ambiguity, executive communication, and recovery scenarios
- Act as an escalation and advisory resource for complex delivery challenges across the PMO portfolio
Required Qualifications
- Proven ownership of enterprise finance transformation programs with measurable outcomes
- Deep understanding of finance operations, controls, compliance, and audit environments
- Demonstrated success stabilizing or recovering in-flight or at-risk programs
- Strong executive presence with CFO-level stakeholders
- Experience managing complex vendor-led delivery environments
Preferred Qualifications
- ERP modernization experience (e.g., Sage X3, Oracle, Syspro, SAP, NetSuite)
- Experience with regulatory or compliance-driven finance initiatives
- Background in consulting or interim transformation leadership
- Finance qualification or equivalent applied experience

The pay range and actual offers are based on a variety of individualized factors including skills, qualifications, experience, location and role specific competencies.
