ABOUT THE POSITION Position Overview: As a Business Continuity Analyst I, you'll play a key role in helping the credit union prepare for, respond to, and recover from operational disruptions. Working closely with teams across the organization, you will support and facilitate business impact analyses, continuity risk assessments, recovery planning, continuity testing, incident response activities, and operational initiatives. This role is ideal for individuals who have experience supporting business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resiliency, crisis management, emergency preparedness, or incident management programs. While data analysis and reporting are important components of the position, the primary focus is helping ensure critical business operations can continue or be restored during periods of disruption. As part of the Enterprise Risk Management, you'll contribute to the ongoing maturity of the credit union's Business Continuity Program by partnering with business leaders, facilitating continuity planning activities, coordinating testing and exercises, and supporting response and recovery efforts when disruptions occur.
Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week). Monday to Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000/year (Exempt) *Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills* Location: This is an on-site position in Endwell, NY. What You'll Do:
- Partner with business units to identify critical functions, assess operational risks, evaluate business impacts, and develop practical continuity and recovery strategies.
- Conduct and facilitate Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), continuity risk assessments, and operational resiliency reviews.
- Develop, maintain, and test business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, and incident response plans.
- Coordinate continuity exercises, tabletop exercises, disaster recovery testing, and program training activities.
- Assist with real-time incident response, business recovery, and continuity event coordination during operational disruptions.
- Analyze continuity program results and assessment data, develop recommendations, and support ongoing program maturity initiatives.
- Administer and maintain business continuity and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) systems, including reporting, metrics, and program documentation.
What success looks like:
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resiliency, and incident response practices.
- Successfully facilitates continuity planning activities with business partners and proactively identifies opportunities for program improvement.
- Builds trusted partnerships across departments and serves as a resource for continuity planning and recovery preparedness.
- Demonstrates increasing ownership of of business impact analyses, continuity testing, recovery planning, and resilience recommendations.
- Progresses toward independently managing continuity program activities and readiness for a Business Continuity Analyst II role.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience supporting business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resiliency, incident management, emergency management, risk management, information security, or a related field; or 4-6 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Demonstrated knowledge of business continuity planning, business impact analysis, continuity testing, disaster recovery, operational resiliency, incident management, or emergency preparedness concepts.
Experience participating in continuity planning activities, continuity exercises, recovery planning, risk assessments, incident response efforts, or related resiliency initiatives.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple business units and manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive business information.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience supporting business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resiliency, crisis management, emergency preparedness, or incident response programs.
- Experience conducting or facilitating Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), continuity risk assessments, continuity plan development, or continuity testing.
- Experience within financial services, banking, credit unions, insurance, healthcare, government, utilities, or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience administering business continuity, risk, or governance platforms (GRC tools).
- Relevant certifications such as CBCP, MBCI, ABCP, Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Disaster Recovery certification, Incident Management certification, or similar credentials.
