Job Summary

The Division of Public Service is looking for a Web Developer to join the team that develops and manages the division's websites (including KJZZ 91.5FM, KBACH 89.5FM, Sun Sounds of Arizona, SPOT 127 and Hear Arizona). We are looking for someone with experience in Drupal and a solid understanding of front and back end web development languages. The position also supports web and smart speaker audio streaming, podcast distribution and mobile apps for the division.

Essential Functions

60% - Configures, customizes and themes websites. Assesses website feature requests, researches/tests options and implements appropriate solutions. Codes, tests and debugs custom Drupal modules. Examines websites for accessibility issues and implements solutions. Monitors website, database and web server performance and security and troubleshoots issues that come up.

20% - Provides staff website technical support and training in content creation, security and best practices. Communicates with staff regarding improvement of existing website processes. Creates web content including graphics as requested. Provides listener support for issues with the websites, audio streams, smart speakers and mobile apps.

10% - Configures and maintains podcast feeds and their distribution on various podcast platforms. Provides custom analytics data for websites and podcasts as requested. Researches new software and 3rd party apps and services. Keeps up with the latest trends and emerging technologies in web development and shares knowledge with the team.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or related field and two years applications development experience in area related to assignment.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

A. Experience installing, configuring, customizing, theming and maintaining websites
B. Solid understanding of Drupal CMS, AWS EC2, DNS, and Google Workspace
C. Experience with programming languages: HTML/CSS, PHP, JavaScript/JQuery, AJAX, mySQL
D. Proven examples of professional communication skills both verbal and written
E. One (1) year of Full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years

Special Working Conditions

May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor. Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense.

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
