Position Summary

Deriva Energy is seeking an Associate Infrastructure Analyst to join the Network & Telecom team. This role will support day-to-day network operations, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting across enterprise and operational technology (OT) environments.

The Associate Infrastructure Analyst will work under the guidance of senior engineers and the IT Manager to maintain network stability, assist with incident resolution, and support ongoing infrastructure improvements and compliance efforts.

This role will be located at the Deriva Headquarters office in Charlotte, NC.

Main Responsibilities

Network Operations & Support

  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining LAN/WAN network infrastructure across data centers and remote sites

  • Support basic configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls

  • Help maintain VPN connectivity for remote users and site-to-site connections

  • Assist with enterprise wireless network support and troubleshooting

  • Support out-of-band management tools (e.g., OpenGear) for remote access

  • Escalate complex issues to senior engineers as needed

Monitoring & Incident Response

  • Monitor network health and performance using tools such as SolarWinds

  • Respond to alerts and assist in troubleshooting network incidents

  • Document incidents and resolutions in ServiceNow

  • Support after-hours troubleshooting on a limited, rotational basis with oversight

Change Management & Documentation

  • Assist in creating and submitting change requests following established processes

  • Help maintain accurate documentation, network diagrams, and runbooks

  • Support CMDB updates, including configuration items (CIs) and relationships

Compliance & Security Support

  • Assist in maintaining secure network configurations aligned with internal policies and NERC CIP requirements

  • Support documentation and evidence collection for audits

  • Follow established procedures for access control and network segmentation

Team Collaboration & Vendor Support

  • Work closely with network engineers, IT team members, and third-party vendors

  • Assist with coordinating basic vendor tickets and support requests

  • Participate in team knowledge sharing and training sessions

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity or a related field

  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree(s) listed above, High School/GED AND 4 years or more of related work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP)

  • Two (2) years or more of experience in IT support, networking, or infrastructure environments

  • Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA (or in progress)

  • Exposure to Cisco networking equipment or similar technologies

  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds)

  • Basic understanding of firewalls and VPN concepts

  • Exposure to ServiceNow or IT ticketing systems

  • Interest in learning regulatory environments such as NERC CIP
