Hearth & Home Technologies is looking for a Value Manufacturing Engineerto join our Stoves Business Unit inHalifax, PA.We are the nation's leading manufacturer and supplier of hearth products, including a wide variety of gas, electric, wood and pellet burning fireplaces, inserts, stoves, and accessories. Headquartered in Lakeville, Minnesota, with distribution around the world, our innovative approach is supported by a business unit structure that allows us to develop and market products with a strong focus on customers' needs. Since 1996, we've been dedicated to connecting people through the warmth and comfort of our hearth products.

As one of our four core business units, the Stoves Business Unit brings together top brands such as Harman, Vermont Castings, and Quadra-Fire, now united under one as Forge & Flame, alongside other stove brands. This unit focuses on delivering high-quality, reliable stove solutions, including wood, pellet, and gas models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute cost reduction initiatives across manufacturing, product design, and operational processes, including value engineering, automation, and material optimization.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities to reduce material, labor, and overhead costs while maintaining product performance, quality, and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance, to prioritize, develop, and execute cost savings strategies.
  • Drive value engineering projects focused on design simplification, component rationalization, alternate material selection, and product cost optimization.
  • Develop and implement process improvement and automation solutions, including robotics and AI-enabled technologies, to enhance operational efficiency and throughput.
  • Assess and optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, reduce waste, increase productivity, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Monitor, analyze, and report project performance, savings realization, and pipeline progress in support of cost reduction objectives and Rapid Continuous Improvement (RCI) initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation related to cost, quality, and production challenges.
  • Support resource planning and project execution across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality functions to ensure successful delivery of cost savings initiatives.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of future cost reduction opportunities, contributing to multi-year savings goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to communicate, collaborate, and implement projects with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient with computer software (i.e. CAD & Microsoft Office: Excel, Visio, Word)
  • Project management including establishing and maintaining project timelines with some direct supervision.
  • Must be willing to actively participate in Rapid Continuous Improvement projects.
