Description

Phoenix Defense is seeking a motivated Safety & Training Coordinator to support and advance the company's safety program. This position is ideal for an individual looking to build a career in occupational safety and compliance while working closely with company leadership.

The successful candidate will coordinate employee training, maintain safety documentation, support compliance efforts, conduct inspections, and assist with continuous improvement initiatives. Over time, this individual will develop the knowledge and experience necessary to assume increasing responsibility for the company's safety program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Coordinate and facilitate quarterly Safety Council meetings.
  • Coordinate employee safety training and maintain training records.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientations.
  • Maintain safety documentation, SOPs, policies, and training materials.
  • Assist with management and maintenance of the company Safety Management System.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections and identify potential hazards.
  • Assist with incident investigations and corrective action tracking.
  • Support OSHA compliance efforts and regulatory recordkeeping.
  • Assist in the development and revision of safety training programs.
  • Track safety metrics and prepare reports for management.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and drills.
  • Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Support leadership in the continued development of the company's safety program.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.


PREFERRED SKILLS:



  • Associate degree or coursework in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, defense, construction, military, or other technical environments.
  • Experience conducting employee training.
  • Experience writing procedures, work instructions, or technical documentation.
  • Military experience is a plus.
