The School of Arts and Sciences are the largest academic unit at Rutgers-Camden, delivering a wide array of degree programs at the baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral levels in the humanities, natural sciences, social sciences, and fine arts. The School of Arts and Sciences includes three schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, University College, and the Graduate School.
Posting Summary
Rutgers University-Camden, School of Arts and Sciences, is seeking a Coordinator of Administrative Services. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, the Coordinator of Administrative Services is responsible for day-to-day administrative support, including independent coordination of the lecturer, instructor and co-adjunct contractual processes. In particular, the Coordinator of Administrative Services will coordinate to ensure compliance with contracts, timelines and budgets. The coordinator will prepare, process, and oversee timelines and data needed to support the budgetary planning and contracts for approximately 1,000 lecturers and co-adjunct appointments annually. In addition, this individual will review and monitor course enrollment and provide support for other administrative duties in the Dean's Office. This position also provides direct administrative support for the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education.

Salary Details Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, within university policy and salary schedules, as well as departmental budgets.

Minimum Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience plus two years of applicable experience, that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, work organization, coordination, facilitation, and/or report writing principles and practices.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, and to interact successfully with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the University community.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, customer-service focused, team environment in a large, complex academic department. Ability to manage and update databases in Microsoft Access.
  • Must be able to perform professional work that requires knowledge of general administrative/office management principles and practices and a good understanding, use, and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology, and applied bases of the College administration.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a higher education environment is preferred. Experience with reviewing and issuing faculty contracts in accordance with university policy and collective bargaining agreements will be a plus.

Must be available to work occasionally in the evening and weekend hours.
