What to Expect
Tesla is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer with a proven track record in the design and delivery of critical infrastructure projects, including industrial, manufacturing, data center, and other high-tech facilities. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, multidisciplinary coordination with A/MEP, Piping, and Process teams, and full compliance with US building codes and structural design standards. This role is a senior technical leader who will independently manage complex structural challenges in high-tech and critical infrastructure environments across all phases-from conceptual planning and preliminary estimates through construction-while ensuring full alignment with project-specific requirements and interfacing directly with cross-functional stakeholders.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the design and construction of a variety of new and renovation projects for industrial, manufacturing, data center and other high-tech facilities
  • Coordinate structural design on multidiscipline project teams including A/MEP, Piping and Process professionals
  • Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations
  • Possess complete knowledge of US building codes and structural design standards, with the ability to make technical assumptions, think independently, and draw sound conclusions based on engineering judgement
  • Provide expanded team leadership by developing execution strategies and mentoring less experienced engineering staff
  • Manage structural projects from concept through construction including preliminary planning estimates with limited scoping information

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET Accredited Program, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in structural design of high-tech, commercial, industrial, or oil & gas industries
  • Registered and in good standing as a Professional Engineer (PE or SE)
  • Familiarity with Revit Structural and experienced with Navisworks/Revizto
  • Self-directed, highly motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, able to work independently and lead project teams with minimal oversight
  • Flexible multitasker skilled at adapting to rapidly changing project requirements and timelines while upholding standards and escalating issues in a timely manner
