Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Product EngineerII to join our Operation Product Engineering within FPGA BUteam in San Jose, CA. This position is part of the Microcontroller BU Operations team, supporting the FPGA business unit, which focuses on high reliability, secured, and low-power FPGA solutions for a variety of application segments. In this role, the candidate will be in the Operation Engineering team with responsibility of supporting manufacturing issues, product yield enhancement and failure analysisfor current and next-generation FPGA/SoC products. The successful candidate will work closely with Design, Technology Development and Customer support teamsto support product development, qualification, manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Description:

  • Work on current and next generation Microchip FPGA products
  • Performing Failure Analysis and Yield Enhancement activities on FPGA/SOC products
  • Characterizing and evaluating FPGA/SOC products Validating on chip components such as micro-processors, high speed I/O's (SERDES and DDR), eNVM, SRAM, charge pumps, PLL's, and Analog I/O's Completing Pre/post silicon debug and verification,
  • Supporting manufacturing issues, yield analysis, and yield improvement activities
  • Supporting Qualification activities and electrical parameter assessment/analysis, Support for engineering silicon reliability experiment
  • Collaborate with different teams across the FPGA Business Unit including Design, Technology Development, Customer Support, Product/Test Engineering, and Quality

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering

  • 2.5+years of relevant experience in semiconductor industry

  • Must possess solid understanding of digital circuits, CMOS logic, VLSI design, semiconductor physics

  • Design skills in Verilog / VHDL, experience of EDA tools (i.e. Synopsis, Cadence Vrituoso) are required

  • Self-motivated with strong logical/analytical thinking skills

  • Experience analyzing yield and electrical test data.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Experience working in a laboratory environment using electrical test and debug equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of FPGA OR CPLDs

  • Experience performing failure analysis and root cause investigations.

  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and product qualification processes.

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,304 - $143,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
