CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Inspector II to join our Water Team in Blacksburg, VA or Richmond, VA. In this field-focused role, you'll provide construction oversight for water, wastewater, and utility projects, helping verify compliance with plans and specifications while supporting the delivery of reliable infrastructure that serves communities for decades to come.



What You'll Do:

    Observe and document water/wastewater construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and approved submittals
  • Verify quality of completed work through field measurements, computations, and monitoring of contractor quality control efforts
  • Identify nonconforming work and support evaluation of corrective actions to ensure acceptability
  • Review contractor payment applications, change orders, and quantities of completed work to support progress payments
  • Coordinate with owners, contractors, and project teams while maintaining clear reports and accurate project records


What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Engineering Science, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of related construction or construction observation experience required
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and ability to comprehend construction documents
  • Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with project teams and assisting senior team members with complex projects
  • Strong communication and mathematics skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Valid driver's license required; extensive travel may be required

Salary Range:

$29.00 - $33.00

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
