Description NorDx Professional - Clinical Summary The HLA Technologist functions as testing personnel in the histocompatibility laboratory. The HLA Technologist performs routine and STAT testing in support of living and deceased organ transplantation, platelet refractoriness, and HLA testing for other purposes. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities 1. Education: Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Science, or equivalent, or Doctor of medicine or osteopathy, or Doctoral, master's, or bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory science, or military enlisted occupational Medical Laboratory Specialist. Knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, practices, and theory required through a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field required. 2. License/Certifications: 3. Experience: Minimum one year of experience in the clinical laboratory setting. Prior experience in human histocompatibility testing, meeting ASHI Standards, to include molecular HLA typing, HLA antibody screening, Flow Cytometry, crossmatching, and ABO blood grouping is preferred.
Available to rotate 24/7 on call duties with other laboratory members, to facilitate deceased donor transplantation. Proficient in Excel. High level of critical thinking and organization. Careful documentation of test records, quality control, and corrective actions.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
