Position Summary

  • The primary function of the office administrator will be responsible for providing administrative support to the office and accounting-payroll departments at a distribution yard.
  • This role requires outstanding organizational skills, along with the ability to multitask. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, proactive, and possess the ability to work through competing priorities with minimal supervision and direction.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Appropriately responding to and managing telephone calls and mail/email requests. Assisting with the invoicing and processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Prepare, track, and manage preliminary notices. Prepare and receive items for shipping via Fed Ex, UPS, and standard mail daily. Deliver, process and respond to mail. Assist front counter with customer inquiries and direct calls appropriately. Assist Branch Managers with day to day responsibilities regarding customer orders, invoices, office supplies and maintenance. Scan, copy, and organize important documents and files.
  • Prepare payroll files and templates for submission to GMS/SRS payroll
  • Calculate commission and gainsharing files.
  • Assist Director of Accounting and Controller with tasks as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Knowledge and use of general office administration/management practices and equipment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to proactively problem-solve, make decisions, anticipate next steps, implement solutions and monitor progress for multiple projects.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, prioritization, time management and calendar management skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience. Core Competencies: Strive to do the right thing by displaying trust and integrity. Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in stationary position in an office environment: 70% Will frequently move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be able to manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must be able to receive and analyze information.
  • Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $25.19 to $32.07 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
