Patient Service Coordinator - Cardiovascular Surgery

Location:818 Congress St, Portland, ME
Department:MaineHealth Cardiovascular Surgery - Clinic Practice
Schedule:Monday-Friday, consistent hours | Day shift (7:30 AM - 4:00PM or 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM)
Remote Flexibility:No- onsite only

Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting patients during their most important health journeys? MaineHealth is seeking aPatient Service Coordinatorto join ourCardiovascular Surgeryteam in Portland.

In this vital role, you will be the front-line support for patients undergoing open-heart surgery, assisting them through pre-op testing, surgical scheduling, and post-op appointments. Oursurgeons rely heavily on their PSCs, and you'll play a key role in keeping care moving forward.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage complex scheduling and coordination for patient appointments and procedures

  • Serve as a point of contact for patients, families, and providers

  • Provide administrative and clerical support within a fast-paced clinical environment

  • Help maintain continuity of care through excellent communication and attention to detail

What We're Looking For:
  • 2+ years of administrative experience in a patient services setting

  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for helping others

  • Comfort with electronic medical records and scheduling systems

  • Ability to work onsite with limited remote flexibility after 1 year of on-site training

Summary:
The Patient Service Coordinator role manages complex scheduling for the practice and is responsible for providing administrative and office support for patients and providers.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Two years of administrative patient service experience.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
