About the Role

We are seeking a strategic, highly collaborative, and visionary Senior UX Designer for a full-time position on the Savvas UX Design team. In this role, you will lead the resolution of our most complex and ambiguous design challenges across our K-12 educational technology platforms. You will bring deep expertise in user-centered methodologies, large-scale user experience strategy, advanced visual design, and robust design systems, while mentoring team members and establishing high-quality design standards.

The UX Design team is responsible for our design system and platform functionality, covering assignments, assessments, data visualizations, reporting dashboards, administrative and operations workflows, and AI-powered teaching and learning experiences across our K-12 educational products.

What You'll Do

  • End-to-End Strategic Design: Lead and define the UX strategy and execution for high-impact, foundational product initiatives, scaling methodologies across our multi-product ecosystem as needs evolve.

  • User-Centered Advocacy & Leadership: Champion an unyielding human-centric approach across the organization. Mentor others in user advocacy, ensuring all high-level product decisions are deeply rooted in real user needs, validated usability principles, and systematic feedback loops.

  • Advanced AI Feature Design: Architect intuitive, trust-building experiences for complex AI-driven capabilities. Define standard patterns ensuring AI outputs, limits, and insights are completely transparent, explainable, and contextually integrated into the user's natural workflow.

  • Design System Evolution: Thoughtfully govern, scale, and contribute to our design system to guarantee absolute visual and interaction consistency across all platforms and products.

  • Strategic Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner as a peer with leadership across Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to influence strategic roadmaps, negotiate technical feasibility, and drive the delivery of exceptional solutions.

  • Mentorship & Design Culture: Actively coach and mentor mid-level and junior designers, raising the bar for craftsmanship, critical thinking, and design excellence across the team.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 6+ years of end-to-end UX/Product Design experience leading complex initiatives across the full product development lifecycle.

  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating a proven track record of breaking down highly complex, ambiguous enterprise problems into elegant, concrete, and scalable design systems and solutions.

  • AI Product Mastery: Deep practical experience designing and shipping successful features that leverage advanced machine learning or AI capabilities within digital products.

  • AI-Enhanced Workflow: Sophisticated mastery of incorporating AI-powered tools into your regular design workflow to significantly amplify exploration efficiency, asset creation, and productivity.

  • Design System Governance: Expert proficiency with modern design tooling (Figma), including building, maintaining, and scaling component libraries, advanced variants, and design tokens.

  • Interaction & Advanced Accessibility: Authoritative understanding of global accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2), deep interaction design theory, complex responsive architecture, and complex information taxonomy.

  • Visual Craftsmanship: Flawless visual and interface design skills with meticulous attention to typography, data-dense layouts, micro-interactions, and visual hierarchy.

  • Domain Expertise: Prior experience in EdTech, enterprise SaaS, or highly data-rich platforms serving multi-tiered institutional, administrative, or operational users.
