This position is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue throughfallterm (endingapproximately December 2026or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships.Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program.Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work40 hoursper week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-timeduring the academic year.

About the Team:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Localization Intern to join our growing team based in Fremont, California. Tesla's Localization team manages 50 locales, across 40 markets, covering 30+ languages and counting. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in localization and translation management while working with our product managers, developers, content authors, local reviewers, and third-party language services providers to create a seamless and positive user experience for all visitors of our website and digital products.


What You'll Do
  • Support the production of translations for web content and other digital products,e.g. Mobile app, Tesla Account, E-mails, internal systems
  • Assist in identifying and fixing linguistic and market-specific issues before launch
  • Help respond to translators' inquiries and provide instructions and visual context as needed
  • Collaborate with external localization vendors to support translation schedules and quality management
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to learn best practices in language, style and terminology alignment
  • Help create and maintain linguistic assets like TMs, glossaries, style guides, and reference material
  • Contribute to improving the localization process and participate in training sessions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Help improve AI prompt for LLM training

What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a Degree in Engineering, Translation Studies, Linguistics, Communications or similar field with a graduation date between December 2026 - December 2027
  • Strong interest in localization, translation, and/or international product development
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Fluent spoken and written language skills in Spanish or French
  • Excellent attention to detail, even under pressure
  • Familiarity with translation tools or CAT tools, Smartling experience is a plus
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment
  • Eager to learn and take initiative in a professional setting

    Expected Compensation
    $25.20 - $35.34/hour + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
