| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The College of Nursing Office of Student Services is responsible for the oversight of marketing, recruitment, undergraduate admission, enrollment and retention initiatives, undergraduate advising, student success, registration, and experiential learning compliance and graduation services in the college. This office serves Enrolled undergraduate and graduate students as well as prospective students to facilitate academic success. Student Services is a dynamic and busy office setting that provides essential services to enrich the student experience during enrollment. |
| Primary Purpose of Position |
This position is housed in Student Services and is responsible for facilitating and managing College of Nursing clinical/practicum compliance requirements according to agency contractual agreements and accreditation guidelines for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in experiential learning opportunities required by the College of Nursing degree options. A high level of communication and organizational skills are used in this position as well as the use of multiple software platforms. Customer service skills, including strong written and verbal communication, are used to provide timely and effective communication with students, faculty, staff and clinical agencies. This position is cross trained to be knowledgeable of other key components and processes within Student Services in order to assist when a fill in is needed. In person attendance at some after hours and weekend events is required. Examples include but are not limited to Open House, Pirates Aboard, and College of Nursing recognition ceremonies for graduating students. Occasional overtime is needed to meet strict agencies deadlines. This position must exercise confidentiality in accordance with policy and applicable state, federal and local laws such as Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (
FERPA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (
HIPPA). |
