Sellers & Associates, LLC (S&A) is seeking a Financial Management Analyst to support Department of Defense (DoD) programs by providing financial planning, budgeting, cost analysis, and fiscal management expertise. The successful candidate will support financial operations through the development of financial controls, budget planning, forecasting, cost reporting, and compliance with federal fiscal laws and regulations while ensuring the effective stewardship of government resources.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide financial management support for DoD programs, including budgeting, cost analysis, planning, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial controls to ensure compliance with government regulations and organizational policies.
  • Analyze program costs, budgets, and expenditures to support effective financial decision-making.
  • Prepare budget forecasts, funding analyses, and financial documentation to support program execution.
  • Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions to address variances and improve fiscal management.
  • Interpret and apply federal fiscal laws, regulations, policies, and rulings to financial management activities.
  • Examine and reconcile financial transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the administration and control of appropriated and non-appropriated funds in accordance with DoD financial management requirements.
  • Utilize automated financial management, cost reporting, and scheduling systems to monitor program performance and generate reports.
  • Develop financial reports, briefings, and analyses for program leadership and government stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with program managers and technical staff to support budget development, execution, and resource planning.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accountability, and internal controls.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation for audits and program reviews.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of thirty (30) credit hours in Financial Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of financial management experience, including budgeting, cost analysis, accounting, financial planning, and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing financial controls.
  • Experience interpreting and applying federal fiscal laws, regulations, policies, and rulings.
  • Experience examining, reconciling, and analyzing financial transactions.
  • Experience administering programs and systems for the control of appropriated and non-appropriated funds.
  • Proficiency with automated financial management, cost reporting, budgeting, and scheduling systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare financial reports and brief senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense financial management programs is highly desirable.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting financial management activities within Department of Defense or federal government environments
  • Familiarity with federal appropriations law and DoD financial management regulations
  • Experience supporting financial reporting, audits, or program financial reviews
  • Experience working with enterprise financial management systems or automated reporting tools
  • Experience providing financial analysis and recommendations to program managers or senior leadership

Annual Salary: $90,000 - $95,000
