Learn more at www.hbfuller.com. Position Overview The Community Affairs and Philanthropy Manager leads the execution of H.B. Fuller's global community affairs and philanthropic programs, including day-to-day management of the H.B. Fuller Company Foundation and associated programs. This role connects the company's purpose, values and business objectives with initiatives that drive meaningful community impact, employee engagement and stakeholder partnerships.
Working closely with the Global Communications & Community Affairs Director, this individual helps translate enterprise priorities into community affairs and philanthropy strategies and programs. The role is responsible for implementing corporate philanthropy, employee volunteerism, charitable giving and community engagement initiatives while identifying opportunities to enhance impact, strengthen relationships and support business objectives.
As the primary lead for Foundation operations and administration, the Manager oversees program execution, partnership management, compliance, budgeting, measurement and reporting, and continuous improvement efforts. Success in this role requires a strategic, relationship-oriented leader who can balance long-term planning with operational excellence to deliver measurable value for employees, communities and the company.
This position reports to the Global Communications & Community Affairs Director and is based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Primary Responsibilities
Partner with the Global Communications & Community Affairs Director to develop and execute H.B. Fuller's global community affairs and philanthropy strategy, aligned with company priorities, values and reputation objectives. Partner with the Global Communications & Community Affairs Director to develop long-term community affairs and philanthropic priorities, identifying emerging trends, strategic partnerships and investment opportunities that support business and reputation goals. Lead day-to-day management of the H.B. Fuller Company Foundation and associated programs, including operations, grantmaking, governance support, compliance, reporting and board-related activities. Manage charitable giving, grantmaking, sponsorships and community investments, ensuring alignment with Foundation priorities, budgets and governance requirements. Lead employee volunteerism and giving programs, partnering with cross-functional teams and business leaders to increase participation and engagement. Coordinate community affairs and philanthropy activities across global regions, fostering alignment, consistency and best-practice sharing while supporting local community needs. Build and maintain relationships with business leaders, community partners and regional champions to strengthen stakeholder engagement and program impact. Develop and maintain policies, processes, toolkits and best practices that support effective and consistent program execution globally. Support annual planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor expenditures and provide recommendations on funding allocations, partnerships and philanthropic investments. Establish and maintain measurement frameworks, dashboards and reporting to assess community impact, employee participation, partnership effectiveness and Foundation performance.
Requirements
English language fluency Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in communications, public relations, nonprofit management, business, marketing, community development, social responsibility or a related field. Eight or more years of experience in corporate philanthropy, community affairs, corporate social responsibility (CSR), nonprofit management, communications or a closely related field. Demonstrated experience developing and executing enterprise-level community affairs, philanthropy or stakeholder engagement strategies. Experience managing budgets, grants, sponsorships and community investment programs. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within budget and timelines. Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in business, communications, nonprofit management, public administration or a related field. Experience managing a corporate foundation or corporate social responsibility program, supporting global initiatives, and working across multiple global regions and cultures. Proficiency in a second language (Chinese, Spanish, German, or Portuguese) is a plus Familiarity and proficiency with various grantmaking and volunteerism software platforms

The salary for this role is $110,000 - $150,000.
