The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing the commercial and operational relationship with assigned contract manufacturing (CM) partners to ensure uninterrupted supply of outsourced systems and assemblies. This role serves as the primary supply chain liaison between internal cross-functional teams and external manufacturing partners, driving supplier performance, inventory optimization, cost management, and issue resolution while supporting new product introductions and lifecycle management.
The ideal candidate combines strong sourcing, procurement, planning, and supplier relationship management skills with the ability to manage complex manufacturing partnerships in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Contract Manufacturer Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned contract manufacturers
- Manage the supply chain for outsourced finished systems and subassemblies
- Conduct regular business reviews to evaluate supplier performance, capacity, quality, delivery, and cost
- Monitor supplier KPIs including:
- On-Time Delivery (OTD)
- Lead Time Performance
- Inventory Levels
- Cost Reduction
- Quality Performance
- Forecast Accuracy
- Escalate supply risks and develop mitigation plans
Supply Planning & Forecast Management
- Communicate forecasts and production requirements to contract manufacturers
- Collaborate with planning teams to ensure suppliers have adequate capacity and material availability
- Monitor inventory at both internal warehouses and contract manufacturer locations
- Manage safety stock strategies and recommend inventory optimization opportunities
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities by providing supplier updates and capacity insights
Supplier Relationship Management
- Build strong working relationships with contract manufacturers and key suppliers
- Coordinate weekly operational meetings and quarterly business reviews
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers
- Monitor supplier compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements
- Support supplier audits and performance improvement plans
- Analyze product costs and identify cost savings opportunities
- Participate in contract negotiations and amendments
- Monitor purchase price variance (PPV) and investigate significant changes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Logistics, Planning and Finance teams
- Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), product transfers, and New Product Introductions (NPI)
- Coordinate implementation of design changes with contract manufacturers
- Ensure uninterrupted product supply during product transitions
Does this position have supervisory authority? Yes No Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): Minimum
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, or Finance PLUS a minimum of 3 yrs experience in a supply chain role with supplier interaction. In lieu of degree, a high school diploma PLUS a minimum of 6 yrs experience in a supply chain role with supplier interaction may also be considered.
- Minimum of 1+ yr experience in a medical device manufacturing or similar regulated environment.
- Global sourcing experience.
- Working knowledge of business processes and ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships across all levels both within and outside of the organization.
- Advanced organizational skills, with ability to rapidly prioritize in a changing environment.
- Ability to work both autonomously with limited supervision and as part of a team.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence and maintain high levels of communication and feedback with peers, management and various stakeholders
Preferred:
- B.S. in Supply Chain Management
- 3-5 Years experience in Sourcing and Supply Chain in a medical device manufacturing company
- Managing outsourced manufacturing operations
- Working with global contract manufacturers
- Leading supplier business reviews (QBRs)
- Supporting new product launches and product transfers
Compensation & Total Rewards: Estimated Starting Salary Range: $89,000 - 97,000 *Estimated Starting Salary Range is reflective of the range Bracco Medical Technologies reasonably expects to pay for the position.
