As part of the Community Connect team, you will play a critical role in extending UNC Health's Epic platform to affiliated providers and clinics while helping improve patient care, operational efficiency, and clinician satisfaction. Summary: UNC Health is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Epic Ambulatory Certified Analyst to join our Community Connect team. This role will support affiliated clinics and external partners utilizing UNC Health's Epic platform, with a primary focus on ambulatory workflows, provider efficiency, clinical operations, and application optimization. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can work independently, build strong relationships with clinical and operational stakeholders, and provide exceptional customer service. This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring both remote work and regular travel to Community Connect clinics for onsite support, workflow assessments, optimization efforts, and go-live activities. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic Ambulatory functionality.
- Analyze clinical and operational workflows and recommend system improvements.
- Provide onsite support to Community Connect clinics, including rounding, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, clinic leadership, and operational teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Support new Community Connect implementations, expansions, upgrades, and optimization initiatives.
- Lead or participate in application testing, validation, and change management activities.
- Troubleshoot Epic application issues and coordinate resolution efforts across teams.
- Develop and maintain documentation, workflows, and build specifications.
- Ensure compliance with UNC Health governance, change control, and Epic best practices.
- Support go-live events and post-implementation stabilization activities.
Required Qualifications
- Current Epic Ambulatory Certification in good standing.
- Minimum of 3 years of Epic Ambulatory analyst experience within a healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of ambulatory workflows, provider documentation, orders, referrals, in-basket management, and patient care processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly to affiliated Community Connect clinics for onsite support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Epic Community Connect environments.
- Experience supporting ambulatory practice optimization initiatives.
- Knowledge of operational workflow standardization and provider efficiency programs.
- Experience participating in Epic implementations, upgrades, or large-scale deployments.
- Familiarity with healthcare change management and project management methodologies.
Work Environment & Travel
- Hybrid work model combining remote work and onsite support.
- Regular travel to Community Connect partner clinics throughout North Carolina is required.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during go-lives and major system events.

Education Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience). Licensure/Certification Requirements: * Current Epic Ambulatory Certification in good standing. Professional Experience Requirements: * If a Bachelor's degree: Four (4) years of experience with IT systems and/or related operational experience. * If an Associate's degree: Six (6) years of IT systems and/or related operational experience. * If a High School diploma or GED: Eight (8) years of IT systems and/or related operational experience. Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: * Excellent analytical and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Highly responsive to internal customers.
